A neighbour first. A leader when it counts.
I live in Kettering with my family. I have spent my life bringing people together across faiths, cultures and generations, and making sure local voices are heard where decisions are made.
Community work runs in my family. From a young age I took part in local initiatives: organising polio eradication programmes, raising funds for people in need and tutoring disadvantaged students. Since making my home in the UK, I have worked with many community groups to build unity and cultural exchange and to bridge social divides.
As an elected Public Governor at Kettering General Hospital, I see my role as a link between the trust and the public, making sure patients and residents are represented and heard. I have also served as a councillor on North Northamptonshire Council (Northall ward) and Kettering Town Council (St Peter's ward).
I founded Sahyog CIC, a social enterprise built on the idea that communities do best when they work together. Alongside public service I bring experience as an entrepreneur, a technologist, a university educator and an author, and I coach business owners and individuals who want to achieve more.
I am a keen photographer and a long-distance runner, and I have completed marathons and ultramarathons to raise money for charity.

Rose of Northamptonshire AwardHonouring those who go above and beyond for their neighbours
I am honoured to have received the Rose of Northamptonshire Award, in recognition of the volunteer group I organised during the COVID-19 pandemic to bring groceries and medicines to isolated residents. The awards were created by the Lord-Lieutenant, the High Sheriff and the county council to thank the people who kept Northamptonshire's communities connected and safe. Today they are run by Northamptonshire Community Foundation with North and West Northamptonshire Councils.
This recognition belongs as much to the volunteers, faith groups and families I have worked beside as it does to me.
